BETH KIMBER

Hi, I'm Beth

I’m a Creative Technologist based in Bristol, making playful, interactive tech.

With a background in physics, software engineering and science communication, I love to make things which spark curiosity and make people smile. From 3D printed planet finders and scientifically accurate star coats to tweeting hamster cages, I enjoy combining my love of science with my engineering skills to bring original ideas to life.

If you're interested in collaborating, running workshops, or developing something fun, feel free to get in touch.

I also love making tiny, silly games with my friends, so if you want to pretend it's the early 2000's and play some naff browser games, head on over to the Games section to have a play.

Places I've been

Tinkering Space

Tinkering Space - We The Curious

I opened and managed the Tinkering Space at We The Curious (formerly At-Bristol Science Centre), designing hands-on workshops and activities for families and schools centred on the joy of making, experimentation and creative technology.

If you're interested in public engagement around tinkering and learning-through-making, come talk to me.

PlayStation

PlayStation

I spent five years at PlayStation as a Software Engineer in Test, writing and automating C# and C++ test systems for PlayStation developer tools.

Alongside this, I threw myself into hackathons (including prize-winning PS5 banana controllers and adaptive voice tech), initiated game jams and produced technical videos introducing new features to external partners.

Ohbot

Ohbot

I’m currently the Community Manager for Ohbot - a programmable robot head that makes coding and robotics accessible to all.

You can find me running workshops, webinars, and competitions, working with educators and families to bring creative computing into more homes and schools worldwide.
